Kikuyu Self Help Groups (SHGs) Empowerment Training Program
Our Self Help Groups(SHGs) should be more than table banking and 'merry-go-round' entities. They should be dynamic platforms that facilitate collective wealth creation and sustainable community growth.
The Constituency office team conducted a week-long sensitization workshop for leaders of self help groups across the constituency. They were guided on the modalities of investing savings from members contributions in viable financial instruments with sound and sustainable returns.
The available investment options discussed for possible consideration include, among others; equities, money market funds, real estate investment trusts, special wealth funds and treasury bills and bonds.
The training will enable our groups to make informed decisions and choose profitable and long-term wealth generating ventures instead of leaving pooled savings sitting idle in their bank accounts.
