A 51-SEATER SCHOOL BUS AND A MODERN MULTIPURPOSE HALL FOR P.C.E.A GICHURU MEMORIAL SENIOR SCHOOL, KARAI WARD
On June 14, 2024, MP Kimani Ichung’wah convened his fellow political leaders, allies, the community and the PCEA Gichuru Memorial Senior School fraternity for a thanksgiving and fundraising ceremony towards the acquisition of a school bus for the institution. Today, he personally delivered the bus amidst jubilation from the students and the entire school community. It was a moment of great joy, pride and triumph.
The bus will provide safe and reliable transportation for students and staff when they attend sports fixtures, academic contests, educational field trips and other curricular and co-curricular activities outside the school. The school will also earn income from the bus by renting it out to other schools and to the community to shuttle people for social events.
The MP also commissioned a modern multi-purpose hall in the school whose construction was funded by Kikuyu NG-CDF. In addition to serving as a dining area for the students, the hall provides a conducive space for school meetings, lectures and academic events, and a stage for extracurricular activities such as performing arts. It will also generate revenue for the school when it is rented out to community groups for social gatherings.
These facilities are a substantial value add to the PCEA Gichuru Memorial Senior school and to the surrounding community by extenstion. We shall continue to make strategic investments in infrastructure development in all our schools to create conducive environments for holistic learning and scholastic achievement.
We remain indefatigably committed to service delivery and development.
